Can six sound artists solve the climate crisis in three days?

What happens when six artists are placed together in a room of Berlin’s Akademie der Künste for three days to solve the climate crisis? Art Music Denmark, Danish Composer’s society, and Initiative Neue Musik / Field Notes attempted to find out.

The group of select artists do not know each other and they come from places as diverse as Mexico, The Faroe Islands, Argentina, and the United States. What they have in common is that they experience the climate change. They are witnesses to violence against eco-systems, they work with the voices of rising water levels, disappearing animal sounds, and grasp the slowness of apocalypses.

On day three of this short-residency, they came up with the title ‘Unrelated Narrations’ to illustrate the diversity of experiences of climate crisis. During the festival Time to Listen in Berlin, they invite to an unpredictable dialogue and collectivise unrelated climate-knowledges.
