Ragnhild May at DAAD in 2022

It is a great honor for Snyk to announce that composer and visual artist Ragnhild May has been selected by DAAD in Berlin to take part in the Artist-in-Berlin Program.

Ragnhild May is a highly achieved composer and visual artist who have performed, exhibited, lectured and held workshops in Europe, USA, Eygpt, and Japan. About her art practice, she explains, “Through sound installations, sculptural objects, performance, record releases and graphic notation, my art practice challenges the relationship between instrument and body, performatively, conceptually and technologically. I investigate the instrument as figure by developing, in dialogue with scientific research, instruments that create other types of body-instrument relationships and practices, and challenge what is understood as an instrument.”

The DAAD Arts and Media Program supports research and study visits to Germany by international cultural practitioners and new media artists. Learn more about the DAAD Residency here.
